Service Description
Drop-In Studio Sessions: In order to book drop-in sessions, you must have completed at least one multi-week pottery course — either at Pinch or another studio. Please note that instruction will not be provided during these sessions. You will be fully responsible for all steps of the process, including wedging your clay, recycling scraps, and cleaning up your workspace. In short, you’ll be flying solo! Each drop-in session is 90 minutes long and includes access to the potter’s wheel and all standard studio tools. Projects are entirely self-directed, allowing you to work at your own pace and focus on the techniques or forms you most enjoy. __________________ Booking Options: When reserving your drop-in session through our booking calendar, you’ll select from the following options: - 2 lbs of clay - 2 lbs of clay + firing - 4 lbs of clay + firing - Your own clay - Your own clay + firing - Session cont. (trim/glaze) Only options labeled “+ firing” include the firing of your pieces. The other selections are ideal for individuals who wish to practice without keeping their work. Additional clay can be purchased in-studio for $2.50 per lb. If you come to practice but later decide to keep what you’ve made, a firing add-on can be purchased at the time of your session. __________________ Bringing Your Own Materials: You’re always welcome to bring your own clay; however, it must be Cone 5 and approved prior to use. Please bring the clay box (or a clear photo of it) so we can confirm it meets our firing standards. The same approval process applies to glazes. __________________ Continuing Projects: Want to come back to trim, glaze, or continue working on a piece? Book the “Session Cont.” option for your follow-up session(s). Please note that these continuation sessions may only be used for finishing work created at Pinch. We do not offer firing services for pieces made outside of our studio. __________________ Important Notes: - Setup and cleanup must be completed within your 90-minute session time — our team will not perform these steps for you. - Unused clay does not roll over into future sessions, please only purchase what you feel is needed (you can always purchase more). - Drop-in sessions are intended for independent work only; no formal instruction will be given. - Under no circumstances may you book this offering with a friend who does not have the required experience. Using it to teach friends or family is not permitted.
Cancellation Policy
Pinch Pottery Studio Booking Policies Pinch is owned and operated by one person, alongside a small team of part-time freelance instructors. Because of this, we run solely on appointment-based scheduling. Your mindfulness and consideration of our time and resources is truly appreciated. When you book with us, you’re not just supporting a small business — you’re reserving a dedicated spot in our limited booking calendar. That time is held specifically for you, which means it cannot be booked by anyone else. One-time lessons, classes, & drop-in studio time: Rescheduling - Lessons, classes, and drop-in time may be rescheduled one (1) time free of charge if the request is made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled session. - Rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of the scheduled session will incur a $50 rescheduling fee. Cancellations - Lessons, classes, and drop-in time canceled at least 7 days prior to the scheduled session are eligible for a full refund. - Cancellations made after 7 days but before 48 hours prior to the scheduled session will receive a 50% refund. - Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled session are non-refundable. Party Modifications - No refunds will be issued for party members unable to attend. - If notified before your party arrives and before the session begins, a voucher may be issued in the amount of $78, for the absent participant to use toward a future communal session. - If we are not notified in advance, the absence will be considered a no-call, no-show and no voucher will be provided. Seasonal and specialty workshops: Rescheduling - Seasonal and specialty workshops are ineligible for rescheduling. Cancellations - Seasonal and specialty workshop bookings canceled at least 7 days prior to the scheduled workshop are eligible for a full refund. - Cancellations made after 7 days but before 48 hours prior to the scheduled session will receive a 50% refund. - Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled session are non-refundable. Party Modifications - No refunds or vouchers will be issued for party members unable to attend.
