Service Description
Uninstructed Studio Time is designed for independent ceramicists who are comfortable working on their own. Customers may book stand-alone sessions or schedule studio time as part of an ongoing membership (members will use their custom member code). Please note that pottery production is NOT permitted. To book studio time, you must complete at least one multi-week pottery course, either at Pinch or another ceramics studio. Please note: instruction is not provided during these sessions. Participants are fully responsible for all aspects of the process, including wedging clay, recycling scraps, managing their work, and thoroughly cleaning and resetting their workspace. In short — you’ll be flying solo. Each session is a 90-minute time block and includes access to a potter’s wheel, handbuilding tables, dipping glazes, and all standard studio tools. Clay and firing charged separately. Projects are entirely self-directed, allowing you to work at your own pace. ⸻ Booking Options: Stand-Alone Sessions: • $30 per 90-minute session • $2.50 per lb of clay • Firing fees charged separately 6-Hour Membership (4 sessions): • $100/month ($25 per 90-minute session) • $1.50 per lb of clay • Firing fees charged separately • Includes additional member perks 12-Hour Membership (8 sessions): • $184/month ($23 per 90-minute session) • $1.50 per lb of clay • Firing fees charged separately • Includes additional member perks ⸻ Firing Fees: Firing fees are charged separately based on the finished piece’s largest dimension (height or width, whichever is greater): • $4 for pieces under 6” • $8 for pieces 6”–12” • $16 for pieces 13”–16” Firing fees are due upon completion of the glaze firing and must be paid in full (at the studio) prior to taking work home. ⸻ Membership Perks: Studio members enjoy all of the same access to tools, equipment, and materials as those booking stand-alone uninstructed sessions — with added savings and benefits. Membership perks include: • Discounted studio sessions • Discounted clay pricing • A personal storage shelf for keeping works in progress • 15% off communal classes and workshops ⸻ Bringing Your Own Materials: You’re welcome to bring your own clay; however, it must be Cone 5/6 and approved prior to use. Please bring the clay box or a clear photo of the packaging so we can confirm it meets our firing standards. The same approval process applies to any glazes brought into the studio.
Cancellation Policy
Pinch Pottery Studio Booking Policies Pinch is owned and operated by one person, alongside a small team of part-time freelance instructors. Because of this, we run solely on appointment-based scheduling. Your mindfulness and consideration of our time and resources is truly appreciated. When you book with us, you’re not just supporting a small business — you’re reserving a dedicated spot in our limited booking calendar. That time is held specifically for you, which means it cannot be booked by anyone else. One-time lessons, classes, & drop-in studio time: Rescheduling - Lessons, classes, and drop-in time may be rescheduled one (1) time free of charge if the request is made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled session. - Rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of the scheduled session will incur a $50 rescheduling fee. Cancellations - Lessons, classes, and drop-in time canceled at least 7 days prior to the scheduled session are eligible for a full refund. - Cancellations made after 7 days but before 48 hours prior to the scheduled session will receive a 50% refund. - Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled session are non-refundable. Party Modifications - No refunds will be issued for party members unable to attend. - If notified before your party arrives and before the session begins, a voucher may be issued in the amount of $78, for the absent participant to use toward a future communal session. - If we are not notified in advance, the absence will be considered a no-call, no-show and no voucher will be provided. Seasonal and specialty workshops: Rescheduling - Seasonal and specialty workshops are ineligible for rescheduling. Cancellations - Seasonal and specialty workshop bookings canceled at least 7 days prior to the scheduled workshop are eligible for a full refund. - Cancellations made after 7 days but before 48 hours prior to the scheduled session will receive a 50% refund. - Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled session are non-refundable. Party Modifications - No refunds or vouchers will be issued for party members unable to attend.
