One-off Small Group Wheel Throwing Class

Service Description

No experience necessary — try wheel throwing without committing to a multi-week course! Pricing: • $78/person (1 person) • $156 (2 people) This is a mixed-group, communal session, meaning you’ll be learning alongside other participants with varying experience levels and interests. Those seeking more hands-on guidance or hoping to make something very specific may find a private session to be a better fit. All tools, supplies, and materials are provided. After a step-by-step demo, you’ll have the chance to make beginner-friendly piecesof pottery! Each participant receives up to three (3) 1 lb balls of clay, their own wheel, workstation, and tools—absolutely no sharing. "Up to” means exactly that: some guests complete one finished piece, others complete two, and some use all three balls of clay. This varies based on personal pace, learning style, and how intricate you choose to make your wares. We strongly encourage quality over quantity! Why 1lb? 1lb is the ideal starting weight for learning to center and can be used to make a variety of items such as mugs, bowls, vases, and more. Please note: full cleanup is required during your 90-minute session. Prefer more wheel time and less cleanup? A private session may suit you better! Firing & Finishing: • One (1) finished piece per person is included. • Additional pieces may be fired and glazed for $10 each, though certainly not required. This small fee covers the extra time, labor, and kiln space needed to transform additional pieces from clay to ceramic. Please note: the main goal of this session is learning and having fun—finished pottery is just a bonus! This is not a “paint-your-own pottery” class. Paint-your-own studios work with pre-made bisqueware. Here, you’ll be creating functional pottery entirely from scratch using stoneware clay (way more fun, though we may be a little biased!). Your chosen piece(s) will be trimmed, glazed in the color of your choosing, and double-fired by our team. Finished work will be ready for pickup in about 6 weeks and will be food, drink, microwave, dishwasher, and even oven safe. Children & age restrictions: Children are not permitted to take part in this offering. Please book a private session instead. For the comfort and safety of all participants, this session is not BYOB.
