Private Wheel Throwing Lesson (2-9ppl)
The studio is all yours!! A hands-on private experience for just you and your party!
Service Description
No experience necessary - learn about ceramics and give the potter's wheel a try! $98/person 2-3ppl $90/person 4-9ppl Over the course of 90 minutes, you will receive hands-on, customized instruction tailored to meet your skill level, goals, and interests. All tools, supplies, and materials will be provided, a step by step demonstration will be included, and you will have the opportunity to create your own pottery! You will each be given three (3) 1lb balls of clay from which you can create, your own work station, pottery wheel, and tools. Absolutely no sharing! Why 1lb? This is because anything larger than that is hard to center, and must be worked up to over time. Aptly coined, many potters refer to it as the “universal starting weight”. While 1lb might not seem like very much clay, you can actually create just about anything from it; mugs, cups, vases, pasta bowls etc. In fact, most household wares are made from similar amounts of clay! Similarly, we have found three to be the magic number, as we encourage participants to slow down, lean into experiencing a new craft, enjoy their time together, and focus on quality over quantity. You will only be responsible for partial clean up - we will do the rest for you! Make something during your class that you like and want to keep? Amazing! The firing of one piece per person is included in the class price. However, additional pieces (up to 3 per person) will be subject to a $10 service charge per piece. This $10 firing fee, covers the cost associated with the extra labor and kiln space needed to fire your pottery. That said, please note that the goal is to learn about the ceramic process, get your hands dirty, and have fun! The creation of a pottery piece is secondary! :) Your chosen piece(s) will be cleaned up, glazed, and fired by us in the available color(s) of your choosing. By the time they are complete, they will be food, drink, microwave, dishwasher, and even oven safe! Your handcrafted work(s) of art will be finished and ready for pickup in 6 weeks (give or take)! This process is a labor of love, as we put just as much care into your work, as we do our own. BYOB friendly, for those 21+! __________ Session breakdown: * 15-20 min walkthrough of the ceramic process + demo * 50-60 min of wheel time (we will be there every step of the way) * 10-20 min for decorating, altering, + color selection

Cancellation Policy
This business is owned and operated by one person, as well as a small selection of part-time freelance instructors - as such, Pinch runs solely on appointment based scheduling. Your mindfulness + consideration of our time and resources is greatly appreciated! With that in mind, when you book a session with us, you are not only supporting a small business, but we are holding a space, specifically for you, within our (limited) booking calendar. This means that your scheduled time slot is no longer able to be booked by anyone else. Rescheduling Your health and well-being is very important to us! Lessons, classes, and drop-in time may be rescheduled one (1) time, free of charge, up until 48 hours prior to the start of the scheduled session. Lessons, classes, and drop-in time rescheduled within 48 hours of the scheduled session will incur a $50 rescheduling fee. Workshop tickets and seasonal events cannot be rescheduled. Private events may be rescheduled up until 1 week prior to the start of the scheduled session. Cancellations Lessons, classes, and drop-in time may be canceled for a full refund, with no cancellation fee, up until 1 week prior to the scheduled session. For cancellations made within 1 week (and prior to 48 hours) of the scheduled session, there is a fee equal to 50% of the cost of the original booking. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled session are non-refundable. Workshop tickets and seasonal events are non-refundable. Private events may be canceled at any time, for a full refund, less the non-refundable deposit of $300. Party Modifications No refunds will be made for those in your party unable to attend. However, a voucher can be provided for a future communal session, so long as we were notified of their absence, prior to the arrival of your party, and the start of the session. If we are not notified prior to the arrival of your party, and the start of the session, then your absent party member will be considered a no call, no show, and therefore they will no longer be eligible for a voucher. This applies to all sessions; lessons, workshops, drop-in time, and private events. Refunds Outside of the reasons detailed above, refunds will strictly be at the owners discretion.
